in 2009 UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN
at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary

This fall www.chicgiraffe.com unites forces with the United Way by participating in the 2009 United Way Campaign at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. The event themed “Help Today, Strengthen Tomorrow” is held at the main campus of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Most of the participation comes from employees, though patients and other visitors to the infirmary are welcome and encouraged to participate.  The most popular event each year is the basket raffle.  The employees of each department choose a theme and put together a basket of donated items.  The baskets are then displayed each day, and at the end of the week they are raffled off.  Other events this year include a book/DVD sale, a turkey dinner where the infirmary executives do the serving, opportunities to pledge payroll deductions and to offer one time donations, a treasure chest where employees make a set donation and pull a surprise “treasure” from a box, an on-line silent auction, an art auction of work by MEEI artists, and other minor contests.

The money raised goes directly to the United Way to fund charitable work. 
This year www.chicgiraffe.com chose to donate a Via Spiga tote valued at $200 hoping to raise funds for the United Way activities.
